Petrolad 6779A is a 400 TBN overbased synthetic calcium sulfonate and provides a base for neutralizing corrosive acids and detergency for deposit control in engines operating under high temperature. Normal dosages would range from 0,5 to 5,0 % w/w in the finished lubricant.

Petrolad 6779A is used as a detergent, acid neutraliser and rust inhibitor with the following fields of application:  Formulating high-performance lubricants for all types of automotive, railroad and marine engines;  Suitable for cylinder lubricants in marine cross-head engines;  To be used as a detergent for general applications.

Petrolad 6779A has excellent acid neutralisation capacities, it can immediately neutralize acid in oil; meanwhile Petrolad 6779A also has outstanding high-temperature detergency and thermal stability. Furthermore Petrolad 6779A has good oil solubility and is compatible with most mineral base oils, white oils, and synthetic base stocks.
